Now that's our kind of date!

Today's #FollowFriday Video Blog Spotlight is Winslow's Wine Cafe, located in the Camp Bowie District. Winslow's describes themselves as a restaurant that is "the heart of a neighborhood where you're among friends." An intimately sized venue, Winslow's has an ambiance conducive to good conversation and the feeling of familiarity. Winslow's Wine Cafe was actually named after Joe Berry's adorable blue-heeler. Winslow the dog has one brown eye and one blue eye; he was named after the town in Arkansas where Joe found him. Winslow can be found hanging out on the patio at Winslow's Wine Cafe on special occasion, such as certain dog-friendly nights.

Winslow's opened its doors in 2008. This past June, they celebrated three happy years with all kinds of promotions to thank their customers for their support. They say the variety in their clientele sets them apart: their customers range from business executives in suits to cowboys in jeans and boots. The atmosphere at Winslow's is cozy and intimate. One of the most beloved features of Winslow's is the outdoor patio complete with comfy chairs, a fireplace, and seating around a large fire pit. Just imagine sipping a glass of wine or sharing a gourmet pizza next to a roaring fire on a crisp Fall evening. Now that sounds like our kind of date!

Happy Hour at Winslow's is 5-7 pm Monday through Thursday and 4-9 pm on Sunday. They feature a $6 red wine, $6 white wine, and $3 draft beer each week as well on discounts on certain food items. Follow them on Twitter @winslowswine to get daily updates on happy hour specials. Love to support local businesses? Among Winslow's vast selection are local wines from Times Ten Cellars and beer from Rahr Brewery.

So what can you eat at Winslows? Start off your meal with a cheese board, crab cakes, or a trio of freshly made hummus. The pizzas are made with a wood-burning fire for that authentic flavor you just can't seem to manage at home. Winslow's also offers a filet, pork chops, bacon wrapped scallops, pastas, and enchiladas. Winslow's most popular entrees on their Sunday brunch menu is the steak and eggs benedict, served with mimosas of course!
