Log Cabin Village is a living history museum in Fort Worth, TX, devoted to the preservation of Texas heritage. Each of the structures from the 1800s, furnished with authentic artifacts, provide a vivid look at life in the nineteenth century frontier. The purpose of Log Cabin Village is to educate the public through the collection, preservation and interpretation of artifacts, representative structures, and other items of social and cultural significance to Texas’ pioneer era (1840-1890).

Log Cabin Village aspires to build connections to 19th century Texas by providing educational opportunities and sensory experiences that are engaging, accurate, and as authentic as possible. They invite you to escape the present and experience the past right here in the heart of Fort Worth.

Social media has enabled Log Cabin Village to interact with historians, cabin-lovers, museum geeks, moms, artisans, and other individuals world-wide! They now have “friends” all over the world. Their favorite thing about social media is that it allows people to get a sense of what Log Cabin Village stands for before they even set foot on the site. Museums are intimidating to some people and Log Cabin Village uses social media to counteract that. After interacting with them online, visitors realize that Log Cabin Village is a friendly, laid-back, educational place where they can experience the past in a beautiful setting.

On Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 1:00-4:00 pm, Log Cabin Village invites you to the Frontier Fall Fest. You'll be able to grind grain by hand, shell corn, fresh wheat, bob for apples, press tortillas, and more. You can enter your carved or painted pumpkin in the best design contest. You can even make your own corn husk doll and/or copper bracelet.
