Helping Clients From "Yes!" to "I Do!"

This week's Spotlight is on Julie Eastman, owner of Extraordinary Events & Design. You can follow her on Twitter @EventsAndDesign. Established in 2006, Julie plans and coordinates weddings and events that are, well, extraordinary! She is a full service planner and helps clients go from "Yes!" to "I Do!"

Julie is an alumni of Graham High School & Stephen F. Austin University. She has a degree in Interior Design and worked as an Interior Designer since 1988. This background gives her an extra edge in the designing process for any wedding or event. In fact, creating beautiful spaces is her trademark! Julie is also the CEO of InsideOut Incorporated, a Christian non-profit that teaches teen girls about inner beauty.

Julie's favorite movie is Sense and Sensibility. Julie loves traveling and can plan

events anywhere that a client might want to go. Her favorite vacation destination is Rome, or anywhere in Italy. Italian food is her favorite cuisine. In her free time, Julie enjoys horseback riding and playing with her dog Max, her Westie that she is - and I quote - "absurdly in love with". She's also a big fan of Fort Worth because the city offers an amazing variety of venues to host events. Her favorite store in Fort Worth is Domain, she especially loves touring the Kimbell Art Museum, and she thinks Teskey's is the place to go for cowboy boots.

So why should you follow Julie? To see some great examples of beautiful events and weddings, of course! Julie posts sneak peak pictures on her Twitter account which might inspire your own event. So follow her on Twitter, "like" her on Facebook, and visit www.extraordinaryeventsanddesign.com for more information.

Now that's our kind of date!

Today's #FollowFriday Video Blog Spotlight is Winslow's Wine Cafe, located in the Camp Bowie District. Winslow's describes themselves as a restaurant that is "the heart of a neighborhood where you're among friends." An intimately sized venue, Winslow's has an ambiance conducive to good conversation and the feeling of familiarity. Winslow's Wine Cafe was actually named after Joe Berry's adorable blue-heeler. Winslow the dog has one brown eye and one blue eye; he was named after the town in Arkansas where Joe found him. Winslow can be found hanging out on the patio at Winslow's Wine Cafe on special occasion, such as certain dog-friendly nights.

Winslow's opened its doors in 2008. This past June, they celebrated three happy years with all kinds of promotions to thank their customers for their support. They say the variety in their clientele sets them apart: their customers range from business executives in suits to cowboys in jeans and boots. The atmosphere at Winslow's is cozy and intimate. One of the most beloved features of Winslow's is the outdoor patio complete with comfy chairs, a fireplace, and seating around a large fire pit. Just imagine sipping a glass of wine or sharing a gourmet pizza next to a roaring fire on a crisp Fall evening. Now that sounds like our kind of date!

Happy Hour at Winslow's is 5-7 pm Monday through Thursday and 4-9 pm on Sunday. They feature a $6 red wine, $6 white wine, and $3 draft beer each week as well on discounts on certain food items. Follow them on Twitter @winslowswine to get daily updates on happy hour specials. Love to support local businesses? Among Winslow's vast selection are local wines from Times Ten Cellars and beer from Rahr Brewery.

So what can you eat at Winslows? Start off your meal with a cheese board, crab cakes, or a trio of freshly made hummus. The pizzas are made with a wood-burning fire for that authentic flavor you just can't seem to manage at home. Winslow's also offers a filet, pork chops, bacon wrapped scallops, pastas, and enchiladas. Winslow's most popular entrees on their Sunday brunch menu is the steak and eggs benedict, served with mimosas of course!

To view their full menu and a regularly updated list of events at the cafe, go to winslowswinecafe.com and don't forget to watch our Video Blog about the wine cafe!

Premier #FF Video Blog

Happy, #FF! This has been a hectic week at Anchor Marketing & Design. First we launched our new website www.anchormd.com on Monday, then we launched our new blog anchormd.blogspot.com on Tuesday and now we're launching our vlog on Friday!

What is a vlog, you ask? Vlog is short for Video Blog. Here's how ours works: every Friday we're going to look through our #FF mentions and pick one lucky Twitter handle to be a #FF Vlog Spotlight. We'll send that Twitter handle a DM with instructions on emailing us. Then we'll send them a short survey through email. They'll answer the questions and email the survey back to us. Then we'll film and edit a Vlog about them and post it the following Friday. We're hoping to get our loyal followers a lot of new followers through our #FF Vlog. A new #FF Vlog will be posted every Friday, so there will be plenty of opportunities for us to make a vlog about YOU.

The Twitter handles we choose won't just be people either. We'll be happy to make #FF Vlogs about businesses, restaurants, museums, theaters, and anyone else who gives us a special #FF shout out! So what qualifies as "special?" Most of the time people Tweet #FF followed by a list of Twitter accounts. That's great - we love to be included in those lists! But we get a bunch of #FF's, so to stand out to make us want to pick you, try telling us what you love about our tweets, or why your followers should follow us.

Our first ever #FF Vlog Spotlight is Meghan Johnson. You can follow her @MeghFortWorthy. Be sure to check out her blog beworthy.wordpress.com for tips on shopping savvy and staying stylish. We picked Meghan to be our premier Vlog because she included a heart on her #FF tag and she tagged us with a bunch of prominent Fort Worth Twitter accounts. We were honored to be included in the list.
